✨ Key Highlights
The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has introduced a new digital payment system called KWSPay, integrated into the eCitizen platform, for all its services. This upgrade aims to streamline payments for conservation fees and other KWS offerings, improving visitor experience.
- KWSPay went live on November 1, 2025, at 6 pm, offering payment options via bank cards, bank transfers, Mpesa, and eWallets.
- Director General of KWS, Dr. Erustus Kanga, stated that the system would include a monthly exchange rate adjustment based on the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) rates, along with a nominal administrative fee and a 5 percent gateway fee for online payments.
- The new system allows both domestic and international tourists to prepay park entry fees online, aiming to reduce congestion and wait times at park gates for all National parks, marine parks, museums, and sanctuaries managed by KWS.
