The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and eCitizen Services have addressed public concerns regarding the new KWSPay digital payment system. This transition aims to improve efficiency and transparency for conservation fees, coinciding with revised park entry charges effective October 1, 2025.
- The upgraded KWSPay offers multiple payment options including M-Pesa, bank cards, bank transfers, and eWallet, active from Saturday, November 1 at 6:00 p.m.
- KWS Director General Erustus Kanga and eCitizen Services Director General Isaac Ochieng reassured users about the system's benefits.
- Transactions will apply a monthly U.S. dollar exchange rate aligned with Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) rates, plus facilitation charges and a 5 percent gateway fee approved by the CBK for system maintenance.
