Women fleeing the captured city of al-Fashir in Darfur are reporting horrific violence, including systematic rape, killings, and the disappearance of their children, following the city's fall to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on October 26.

• UN Women stated that rape is being deliberately and systematically used as a weapon of war, with Regional Director for East and Southern Africa Anna Mutavati highlighting that "women's bodies become a crime scene in Sudan."
• Approximately 11 million women and girls in famine-struck Darfur face acute food insecurity, risking sexual violence even while foraging for food.
• The fall of al-Fashir has cemented the RSF's control of the Darfur region, with an estimated 82,000 people having fled since October 26, while up to 200,000 may still be trapped.
