The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has issued a stern warning against bribery in the upcoming National Police Service (NPS) recruitment exercise on Monday, November 17, 2025. CEO Abdi A. Mohamud highlighted past instances of parents selling land or holding harambees to finance bribes for their children's entry into the force.

• The EACC received "alarming reports" of parents and guardians exhausting life savings to bribe public officials during previous mass recruitments.
• EACC CEO Abdi A. Mohamud, via Western Regional Manager Eric Ngumbi, stressed that bribery undermines merit and leads to compromised officers, eroding public trust.
• The EACC will prosecute those using forged academic certificates for public employment and compel them to refund all salaries and benefits earned.
