Kenya's clean energy sector has received a significant boost with French development finance institution Proparco's investment in the Kipeto Wind Farm, the nation's second-largest wind power facility. This co-investment with Meridiam Infrastructure Africa Fund II strengthens France's commitment to Kenya's goal of achieving 100% renewable electricity by 2030.

The 100 MW Kipeto Wind Farm, operational since July 2021, generates approximately 432 GWh of electricity annually, serving about 250,000 households.
Arnaud Suquet, French Ambassador to Kenya, highlighted France's long-standing partnership in Kenya's energy transition.
The project avoids over 250,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions yearly and has created more than 500 direct and indirect jobs.
