President William Ruto announced that the government will invest Ksh.11 billion in housing and hostel projects in Makueni County, reaffirming his commitment to the affordable housing program. This announcement was made during an inspection of the Boma Yangu Wote Pool Affordable Housing Estate.

• The Boma Yangu Wote Pool Affordable Housing Estate consists of 755 units and is 50 per cent complete, with a scheduled completion date of January 23, 2026.
• President Ruto reactivated the Wote Civil Servants Housing Project, budgeted at Ksh.556,944,560.64, to be completed by May 10, 2027 by Hashit Construction and General Supplies Ltd.
• These projects aim to uplift living standards, provide jobs, and ignite business opportunities for the Jua Kali sector, with workers receiving certified skills training through the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA).
