Ryanair has announced it is scrapping printed boarding passes, moving to 100% digital boarding passes from Wednesday to expedite travel and reduce costs. Passengers will now be required to check in online before arriving at the airport.

• Passengers failing to check in online will face an airport check-in fee of up to £55.
• Customers travelling to Morocco, where paper boarding passes are still required, can collect them for free at the airport.
