President William Ruto has launched significant affordable housing initiatives in Wote, Makueni County, demonstrating his administration's commitment to the Affordable Housing Programme. These projects, part of the government's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), aim to uplift living standards and create jobs across Kenya.

• An investment of KSh 11 billion is earmarked for new housing units and hostels in Makueni County.
• The Boma Yangu Wote Pool Affordable Housing Estate, implemented by Parklane Construction Company, will feature 7,755 units and is 50 percent complete, with a target completion date of January 23, 2026.
• The Wote Civil Servants Housing Project, handed over to Hashit Construction and General Supplies Ltd, is valued at KSh 556.9 million and will provide 162 units by May 10, 2027.
• These projects also include skills training for local workers in various construction trades, with assessment and certification by the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA).
• This visit marks the beginning of a four-day development tour across the three Ukambani counties.
