The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has revealed that 10 Kenyan minority communities are entirely unrepresented in employment at public universities, threatening the nation’s diversity goals.

• Out of 27,596 university employees, not a single person was from communities including the Dahalo, El Molo, or Oromo.
• The NCIC audit highlighted that half of public universities show a strong correlation between the ethnic background of their vice-chancellors and the dominant ethnic group among staff.
• The commission urged the Ministry of Education and university councils to implement urgent corrective measures.
