The World Bank is providing $1.35 billion (Ksh174 billion) in support for Kenya's affordable housing project, aiming to boost access to cheaper mortgages and address the country's housing deficit. This significant funding will help mobilize resources for President William Ruto's initiative to provide affordable homes.

• The World Bank will directly loan Kenya $375 million (Ksh48.4 billion) in concessional funding and facilitate a sustainability-linked loan for an additional $900 million (Ksh116.3 billion) from commercial lenders.
• The OPEC Fund will contribute an extra $75 million (Ksh9.6 billion) to the housing project, with the Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company disbursing and refinancing home loans.
• Kenya faces a housing deficit exceeding two million units, with demand growing by approximately 250,000 households annually, and 62 percent of urban residents living in informal settlements.
