A Shanzu court has granted the DPP's request to detain six Iranian nationals for an additional 21 days, as authorities investigate their alleged involvement in a sophisticated transnational drug cartel. The suspects were intercepted in the Indian Ocean with an estimated Ksh. 8.2 billion worth of methamphetamine.

• The six Iranian nationals, Jasem Darzaen Nia, Nadeem Jadgai, Imran Baloch, Hassan Baloch, Rahim Baksh, and Imtiyaz Daryayi, are suspected of trafficking narcotic drugs.
• Investigators recovered seven electronic devices, including a GPS tracker, believed to hold crucial intelligence on the shipment's origin and financiers.
• The suspects are under investigation for trafficking in narcotic drugs, contrary to Section 4(a)(ii) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act of 1994.
