Kenya’s inflation rate has decreased to 4.5 per cent in November, down from 4.6 per cent in October, marking the first drop since July.
- The reduction was primarily driven by lower prices in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, which fell by 0.1 per cent.
- The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) reported that electricity prices for both 50 kWh and 200 kWh categories declined by 1.7 per cent and 1.5 per cent, respectively.
- Despite an overall increase in health and transport costs, prices for fortified maize flour, sifted maize flour, tomatoes, sugar, and beans all saw decreases.
