Peter Omwangala Atepe has been sentenced to nine (9) years in prison for illegally exporting wildlife products and forging official documents, following a case that has been pending since 2019.

A nine-year custodial sentence was secured by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The accused, Peter Omwangala Atepe, was convicted of wildlife-related offences under the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act.
The case involved the forgery of CITES import licences and Kenya Wildlife Service revenue stamps for the re-export of products including northern deer, elk, and peacock feathers to the United States of America.
