Morocco's King Mohammed VI has pardoned Senegalese football supporters jailed following violence at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final in Rabat. The decision was made "on humanitarian grounds" and in view of "the age-old fraternal ties" between the two nations, coinciding with the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.

• The pardon is expected to apply to the 15 Senegalese fans who remained incarcerated after receiving sentences ranging from six months to one year.
• The jailed supporters were detained after incidents at the final on January 18, which saw Senegalese fans attempt to storm the pitch and hurl projectiles when a goal was disallowed.
• Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye welcomed the decision, thanking King Mohammed VI for an act "imbued with clemency and humanity."
