The KCB Foundation celebrated the graduation of 800 youth from its 2Jiajiri vocational training programme in Elgeyo Marakwet County, marking a significant achievement in youth empowerment.
800 youth graduated from the program, with 120 graduates receiving business start-up toolkits.
The initiative is part of a partnership between KCB Foundation and Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Work’s programme.
Since its inception, the program has trained over 35,000 youth nationwide and created more than 150,000 jobs.
The Huawei LEAP Job Fair on 8 July 2025 at the University of Nairobi Grounds generated over 1,700 job opportunities for Kenyan youth, emphasizing Sino-Kenyan collaboration in enhancing digital skills.
Over 60 Chinese and Kenyan enterprises participated in the fair.
Yu Xiaodong, KCETA President, praised the job fair as evidence of a successful partnership.
Huawei aims to train 100,000 Kenyan youth in digital skills by 2026 through its LEAP initiative.
