Political leaders across party lines joined thousands of Kenyans at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, to cheer on the Harambee Stars, with fans arriving as early as 7 am. This victory was part of the opening fixtures of CHAN 2024, where host Kenya secured a narrow 1-0 win against DR Congo, while Morocco also started their campaign with a 2-0 win over Angola.
