Concerns Raised Over Medical Insurance for Public Sector Workers and Police - August 2025

Public sector trade unions are accusing insurance companies of prioritizing profits over providing quality healthcare services to their members. Similarly, health worker unions, led by the secretary-general of KMPDU, have expressed dissatisfaction with some insurance companies, complaining they are degrading the delivery of services. Adding to these concerns, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangi has accused the government of discontinuing medical insurance schemes for teachers and police officers.
