A group of Kenyan legislators, operating under the ‘Kenya Moja’ political group and led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, has given Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale 48 hours to resign. • If CS Duale fails to resign, the legislators, including Bomachoge Borabu MP Obadia Barongo and Kitutu Chache South MP Tonny Kibagendi, plan to trigger an impeachment motion.
• The group also demanded the immediate resignation of SHA chair Abdi Mohammed and SHA CEO Mercy Mwangangi, accusing Duale and figures from State House of orchestrating the fraud.
• Ironically, Duale had previously exposed massive fraud at SHA on Monday, August 26, including phantom billing and rejected claims worth Ksh10.6 billion, leading to accusations of a cover-up after the SHA public payment portal was pulled down.
