Ruto Defends Economic Policies as KRA Collects KSh73.2B Housing Levy and Other Costs are Cut - September 2025

President William Ruto has strongly defended his economic policies amidst rising criticism from the opposition regarding the increasing cost of living in Kenya. Meanwhile, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has collected KSh73.2 billion from the housing levy during the 2024/2025 financial year. The government has also announced a reduction in the prices of maize and fertilizer, a move aimed to benefit farmers across the country. Additionally, President Ruto has significantly reduced university fees, bringing them to a 25-year low to make higher education more accessible.
