Parties Announce Strategies and Candidates for November 27 By-elections - September 2025
Political parties are preparing for the upcoming 24 by-elections scheduled for November 27 across Kenya. ODM National Chairperson Gladys Wanga declared that broad-based government allied parties are prepared for a landslide victory against the Opposition, expressing confidence in strategies like backing single candidates. Specifically, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has named Leo Muriuki Muthende as its candidate for the Mbeere North parliamentary by-election after he was chosen through consensus. Meanwhile, in opposition activities, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka met at Musyoka's Yatta ranch. They vowed to combat what they deemed State-sponsored propaganda aimed at destabilizing the opposition.
