Mutua Wins Machakos Golf Classic; Karoki Claims Thika Title; KDF Wins League Leg - September 2025
In golf, home player Benard Mutua, with a handicap of 20, secured the overall title at the Old Mutual Golf Classic in Machakos with 41 stableford points, marking his first major victory. In a separate event, Munge Karoki claimed the overall winner’s title at the Prime Bank and Amicus Golf Day at the Thika course with an impressive 40 stableford points on September 21, 2025. In other domestic sports, defending champions Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) won the third leg of the league championships in Nakuru, accumulating 23 points. Despite this victory, KDF sits in second place in the overall table standings with 44 points. Kenya Police still lead the overall table with 57 points as KDF had missed the first leg.
