Adak Denies Mishandling Zakayo Case as Other Kenyan Athletes Prepare for Events - October 2025
The Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (Adak) has refuted allegations of mishandling the disciplinary case of former world Under-20 5000m champion Edward Zakayo. Zakayo is currently serving a two-year ban for whereabouts violations and claimed he was not given a fair hearing. He also announced his retirement from athletics due to frustration. In other news, Kenyan deaf cyclist Brenda Bwire is aiming for a gold medal at the upcoming Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics. Bwire, who previously won gold at a 2021 Turkey triathlon championship, will represent Kenya in cycling.
