In contrast, Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi stated that the ODM party will not field a presidential candidate in the 2027 General Election, a claim that reportedly conflicts with views from other ODM members. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has accused opposition politicians of launching early campaigns two years ahead of the election. Kindiki dismissed these activities as a distraction from the development agenda.
