President William Ruto has confirmed that preparations for the 2025 national assessments in Kenya are complete, assuring a smooth examination season. He urged all stakeholders to ensure credible and efficient examinations, with adequate resources and security measures in place.

• Over 996,000 candidates began their KCSE examinations on October 21, with practical exams from October 22-31, 2025, and written papers from November 4-21.
• The 2025 assessments will mark a historic milestone with the first cohort of Grade 9 learners sitting for the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment.
• Other assessments include the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment, Kenya Integrated Learners Education Assessment, Kenya Pre-Vocation Level Education Assessment, and Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education.

The Ministry of Education is collaborating with school principals to establish an affordable fee structure for senior schools ahead of the 2026 transition under the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC).

• William Sugut, Director of Secondary Education, stated that the new figures will be communicated "shortly" and will ensure affordability.
• The fee structure will categorize schools by clusters and integrate three senior school pathways, including Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
• The revision aims to address equity concerns as over one million Grade 9 learners are expected to join senior school in January 2026.

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has released the 2025 teacher assessment and examination results, accessible to colleges via the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) Teacher Education (CBATE) portal. Only colleges that have completed full payment can access these results.

• Among the released results are for Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE), Primary Teacher Education (PTE), and Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE).
• The release coincides with the start of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination, with over 960,000 candidates expected to sit.
• The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) for Grade 6 students is scheduled for October 27 to October 30.
