Tenders for the dualling of Kiambu Road and the Northern Bypass in Kenya are slated for release in early 2026, as announced by President William Ruto. These projects aim to alleviate significant traffic congestion in the Nairobi area.

• The Pangani–Muthaiga–Kiambu–Ndumberi road expansion is a 38.7 billion Shilling project, covering 23.5 kilometers, financed by a loan from China’s EXIM Bank.
• The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) will oversee the conversion of the existing two-lane road into a four-lane dual carriageway, including service lanes, pedestrian walkways, and six footbridges.
• This announcement coincides with ongoing work on the Rironi–Nakuru–Mau Summit Expressway, with segments handled by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), and Shandong Hi-Speed Road and Bridge International (SDRBI).
