Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo Dies in a Fatal Road Crash - December 2025

Former Cabinet Minister and Lugari Member of Parliament, Cyrus Jirongo, has died in a fatal road crash along the Nairobi–Nakuru highway. Reports indicate his Mercedes collided with a coach bus a few kilometers from Naivasha, and he was killed instantly. A bus driver involved in the incident has recounted the moments before the crash. Following his death, Jirongo's body was brought to the Lee Funeral Home. President William Ruto, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Francis Atwoli are among the Kenyan leaders who have eulogized the former MP, while other political figures gathered at the funeral home to mourn his loss.
