The Cabinet has approved a public-private partnership (PPP) for the issuance and management of Second-Generation Smart Driving Licences in Kenya. This initiative will transfer responsibility from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to a private investor with the goal of modernizing the country's transport system and improving road safety. In the same sitting, the Cabinet also approved a new National Energy Policy and an updated National Petroleum Policy. These policies are considered foundational to achieving Kenya's development goals and are aimed at accelerating the country's transformation into a modern, industrialized economy.
