President William Ruto announced that construction of a new world-class airport in Kenya will commence in April or early May 2026, aiming to boost the country's national infrastructure. This project seeks to alleviate congestion at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

• The new airport is proposed for Konza Technopolis, with new terminals, runways, and more aircraft bays planned.
