A police recruit has been arrested at the National Police College, Embakasi A Campus, for allegedly defrauding a civilian of Ksh687,000 in a fake Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) job scam. The suspect is accused of promising a guaranteed job opportunity within the KDF for a fee.

• Ksh687,000 was paid by the victim for a fraudulent KDF employment letter.
• The suspect, a police recruit constable, was traced and arrested by detectives from Kayole Police Station.
• This incident follows other recent fake job scams, including a nephew of Deputy Inspector General Gilbert Masengeli charged with defrauding Ksh2 million in a similar scam in December 2025.

A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer and a National Police Service (NPS) counterpart have been arrested in Mtito Andei township for alleged extortion. They, along with a civilian, are accused of intimidating bar owners and the public to demand money.

• Three suspects arrested: Samuel Ogando Odoyo (KDF officer), Onyango Nelson Kasera (police officer), and Joseph Mulwa Mwambi (civilian).
• The trio allegedly used a white Toyota Axio with a fake registration number.
• A search of the vehicle recovered a black pistol holster and a pair of handcuffs.
