El Al, Israel's national airline, has announced the launch of new direct flights from Tel Aviv to Manila (Philippines), Seoul (South Korea), and Hanoi (Vietnam). This marks the first-ever direct air connection between Israel and the Philippines.

• The new routes will feature three weekly flights to each destination.
• The Tel Aviv-Manila journey is estimated to take around 11 hours.
• The Tel Aviv-Seoul route, previously suspended, will be reinstated by El Al.
• El Al emphasizes that these new routes aim to provide an optimal solution for business travelers and strengthen economic ties with Asian countries.

Kenyan aviation workers have issued a seven-day strike notice to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), effective February 9th, protesting a stalled Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), job downgrades, and salary cuts from contract placements.

• The strike notice warns of a nationwide shutdown of aviation operations if the dispute is not resolved within seven days.
• The Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU), led by Secretary General Moss Ndiema, states five CBA cycles beyond the 2015–2016 agreement remain outstanding.
• The union also alleges KCAA’s refusal to deduct union dues for staff in Grades 4 and 5, violating the Labour Relations Act.
