The Orange Democratic Movement's (ODM) National Executive Committee (NEC) controversially removed Edwin Sifuna from his Secretary General position during a heated meeting in Mombasa County. A faction led by Oburu Oginga announced the removal, which was confirmed on Wednesday. The move followed Sifuna's public questioning of the party's talks with President William Ruto and his opposition to supporting Ruto's 2027 presidential bid. Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo was appointed as the acting secretary-general to replace Sifuna, citing conduct issues and internal wrangles. Following his ouster, Sifuna announced he would address the media on Thursday, February 12.
