The Kenyan government attributed the delayed payment of personnel who administered the 2025 national examinations to budgetary and cash flow constraints. Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba acknowledged concerns from hundreds of supervisors, invigilators, examiners, and security personnel regarding their unpaid allowances. CS Julius Ogamba has since promised to fast-track payments for all staff involved. Separately, the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has issued demands to the government concerning outstanding labour agreements, specifically the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), warning of potential industrial action.
