President William Ruto announced that the ongoing Safari Rally Kenya will be the last to receive public funding, with the event to be entirely financed, managed, and promoted by the private sector going forward. President Ruto joined fans in Naivasha to witness the thrilling action of the 2026 Safari Rally Kenya. The WRC Safari Rally's Sleeping Warrior stage was cancelled due to extreme weather conditions just minutes before its scheduled start. Meanwhile, Toyota's Takamoto Katsuta has taken the lead in the rally, with Kenyan driver Karan Patel currently in 17th place.
