President Ruto Launches Road Projects During Western Kenya Tour - March 2026
President William Ruto has officially launched multiple infrastructure projects during his four-day tour of Western Kenya, including the Mundere-Okando-Sio Port-Nangina Road in Budalang'i, Busia County, and the Shibale-Nasewa-Matayos road. Preparations are underway in Kisumu for the official launch of the Standard Gauge Railway Extension, a significant infrastructure project slated for unveiling by the President. Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir conducted an inspection of the SGR in Kisumu on March 20th, ahead of an upcoming visit by President Ruto and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni scheduled for March 21st. The President commenced his 10-day tour of the Western Region, marking a significant period of engagement in the region.
