Four people have died and four others were rescued after a building collapsed in Nairobi's Shauri Moyo area on Monday during partial demolition for the Nairobi River Regeneration Project. The same condemned building had been slated for demolition by Nairobi City County. Two people were hospitalized and six were initially missing as rescue operations continued through the rubble. Meanwhile, the National Building Code 2024 introduces stringent regulations for new constructions focusing on boundary walls, windows, and setbacks to ensure safety and orderly urban development.
