Four people have died and four others were rescued after a building collapsed in Nairobi's Shauri Moyo area on Monday during partial demolition for the Nairobi River Regeneration Project. The condemned building had been earmarked for demolition by Nairobi City County. Two people were hospitalized and six others remained missing during rescue operations. The National Building Code 2024 introduces stringent regulations for new constructions, focusing on boundary walls, windows, and setbacks to ensure safety and orderly urban development.
