Kenya's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is facing a serious internal split as the "Linda Mwananchi" wing announced plans for a parallel convention on March 27. A faction within ODM, led by Oburu Odinga and former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma, has announced plans for their own National Delegates Conference at Jamhuri Park, dismissing the faction led by John Mbadi and Opiyo Wandayi. Gladys Wanga has declared that there will be only one ODM National Delegates Convention held at Jamhuri Grounds. The appointment of Winnie Odinga to a leadership role has also ignited controversy and debate among party members.
