Heavy rains have caused significant damage to the Kitale–Morpus Road, forcing authorities to reroute traffic due to a washed-away section disrupting traffic flow towards Lodwar. The Kenya National Highways Authority issued warnings about severe traffic disruptions on the Chapareria–Morpus stretch. Meanwhile, heavy floods have also disrupted transport on the Suswa–Narok highway after intense rainfall caused river overflow. These incidents occur as the WMO reported the period from 2015 to 2025 as the hottest 11-year stretch on record, with global temperatures approximately 1.43°C above pre-industrial averages, deepening the climate crisis.
