Ford Kenya, led by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula, has rejected demands from President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to merge, signaling a potential strain on their partnership ahead of the 2027 polls. The party has described the demands as blackmail and firmly stated they will not fold or dissolve. Additionally, Ford Kenya has strongly refuted calls from within UDA to dissolve, denouncing such suggestions as a betrayal of their partnership in the ruling coalition. The party emphasizes its historical significance and commitment to remaining an independent entity while asking UDA to respect their partnership. This rejection follows the ODM party's entry into the ruling coalition and its demands for pre-election pact conditions.
