Floods displace families and cause casualties across Kenya - March 2026

Three people have tragically lost their lives in Makueni county after being swept away by floodwaters. Over 800 families in Taveta have been affected by heavy rains, leading to displacement and significant damage. The Hatata Primary School in Mororo, which previously served local residents and their children, now stands abandoned following the devastating 2024 floods, with the fate of the affected children in the region remaining uncertain.
