Police lobbed teargas at Jamhuri Grounds, Nairobi, on March 27, 2026, to disperse youths attempting to force their way into the ODM Special Delegates Convention. ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna's speech was abruptly cut short at a party meeting after police intervened to evict attendees identified as 'Linda Mwananchi'. Geoffrey Osotsi, ODM Deputy Party Leader, accused authorities of deploying soldiers overnight to disrupt the party's activities.
