The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has opened an investigation into former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua following sensational claims he made regarding a Ksh500 million scandal. Gachagua claimed President Ruto profits from a controversial oil deal and linked him to a Sh500 million exhibit. The DCI is reviewing remarks made by Gachagua for potential hate speech, ethnic contempt, and incitement. The DCI has strongly refuted claims made by Gachagua defending top energy officials over the fuel scandal.
