Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has ordered the Inspector General of Police to immediately arrest individuals allegedly hired as "goons" by opposition leaders. The directive comes amidst accusations that some opposition members are using these groups to disrupt public order and intimidate government officials. Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo separately issued a tough warning against banditry and political violence, vowing to hold those involved accountable as security operations intensify. National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah has accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of orchestrating a plan for incitement and violence targeting Kikuyu Constituency, urging the Inspector General of Police to intervene. Separately, Murkomen condemned the assault on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi in Kisumu, deeming it unacceptable and warning against rising political intolerance as elections approach.
