The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) has threatened legal action against the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party for alleged large-scale tax evasion and financial mismanagement.

• KHRC claims UDA failed to remit approximately Sh69 million in Pay As You Earn (PAYE) taxes.
• The commission is demanding accountability from UDA, which is a major beneficiary of the Political Parties Fund, receiving over Sh789 million in the 2025/26 financial year.
• KHRC also accuses UDA of failing to remit housing levies for its employees, despite advocating for the Affordable Housing programme.
