Kenya is set to host a historic 24-hour mangrove restoration drive in Mombasa from April 30 to May 1, 2026, aiming to restore degraded coastal ecosystems. Guinness World Record holder Antoine Moses will attempt to plant 40,000 mangrove seedlings in Mombasa during the 24-hour restoration effort. In a separate conservation effort, Kenya Wildlife Service successfully repatriated four rare male mountain bongos from the Czech Republic in a significant effort to prevent extinction. Additionally, Kenya is solidifying its position as Africa's largest avocado producer, with projections indicating significant growth in both production and exports, highlighting agricultural diversification potential.
