Murang'a ECDE Teachers Protest Demand Permanent Employment - April 2026
Early Childhood Development and Education teachers in Murang'a have staged a protest demanding to be employed on permanent and pensionable terms. The demonstration follows a separate incident where ECDE teachers in the same region held protests to voice their grievances regarding their employment status. Cabinet Secretary Adebabo Duale subsequently met with Kenyan teachers' union leaders in an effort to avert planned industrial action, aiming to address grievances and de-escalate tensions that have threatened nationwide strikes.
