Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has become a frequent political target for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) when the party faces challenges, with allies of the Kenya Kwanza administration intensifying criticism and accusing him of undermining the current government and funding opposition activities. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen urged Kenyatta to emulate Mwai Kibaki and retire from active politics as an elder statesman. However, Deputy President Rigathan Gachagua defended Kenyatta's right to express his opinions, even if they differ from the current administration's stance, during rallies in Kajiado county.
