A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier, identified as Elizabeth Wanjiru, aged 44, was found dead in her locked home in Juja under mysterious circumstances. Police and the KDF have launched a joint investigation into her death.

• The soldier was attached to the Department of Defence (DoD) headquarters.
• Her body was discovered in a pool of blood with apparent marks of electrocution.
• The investigation follows a similar suspicious death of an elderly woman in Sagana, Kirinyaga County.

Detectives in Trans Nzoia County have arrested two suspects, Dickson Wamocho and Frank Kuyal, in relation to organised crime, following an intelligence-led operation.

• The operation resulted in the recovery of assorted weapons and tactical gear, including a military-style tactical uniform.
• The arrested individuals are believed to be part of an organised criminal network and are in custody awaiting arraignment.
• The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) conducted the raid in the Chebarus and Kibomet areas of Trans Nzoia West Sub-County.

The National Police Service has intensified its crackdown on illicit drugs and toxic brews across Kenya, adopting a zero-tolerance approach to combat substance abuse.

• Over 8,000 litres of illicit brews and approximately 140 rolls of cannabis have been seized in coordinated operations.
