Defence Ministry Takes Over Stalled Kericho Stadium Rehabilitation Projects - May 2026

The Ministry of Defence has taken over the stalled rehabilitation projects of two stadiums in Kericho County, Kiprugut Chumo Stadium and Kapkatet Stadium. This intervention comes after previous efforts to upgrade the facilities to international standards were unsuccessful. Separately, the Kenyan government has launched the construction of the Sh950 million Kipchamba Stadium in Bomet. The construction of the Malindi fish market has reached 95% completion, with the National Assembly's Committee on Blue Economy ordering an additional KSh 55 million to finalize the project in Kilifi County.
