Ruto Orders Bandits in Laikipia to Leave Mugogodo Forest - May 2026

President William Ruto has issued a stern ultimatum to bandits and armed criminals operating in Mugogodo Forest, Laikipia County. Emperor William Ruto has declared that security has been restored in Laikipia County following a sustained crackdown on bandits, assuring residents that security forces are diligently working to neutralise the remaining bandits. A faction of Kenya Kwanza leaders in Kericho has accused former President Uhuru Kenyatta of allegedly funding the opposition and urged him to cease such activities to focus on his retirement.
