Nairobi Women Demand Justice for Gospel Artist Rachael Wandeto - May 2026

A group of women in Nairobi are demanding justice for the late gospel artist Rachael Wandeto, who tragically died following severe burns. President William Ruto has strongly condemned tribal politics and hate-driven profiling in light of Rachel Wandeto's death. Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris has strongly condemned the brutal killing, while the family is demanding swift investigations into her death. Meanwhile, women in Nandi County held a peaceful protest against the alarming rise in femicide incidents across Kenya, and several advocacy groups are urging the Kenyan government to officially declare gender-based violence a national disaster.
